At 6:00 AM the lights in the albergue go on full blast and 100 sleeping perigrinos start getting up. The weather is wet and cold outside and we have to trek 2.5 KM just to get breakfast, you lucky people reading this only had to go to the kitchen.
Today was mostly downhill 20 KM with a short steep climb at one point, the rain made the camino very muddy and slippery at some parts. We heard from another pilgrim that some one slipped into a ditch and had to be pulled out by their feet by other pilgrims, luckly we have super duper hiking poles so we are navigating the mudy rocky paths easily.
We ran ints some interesting pilgrims today, there is a guy with a small pack and a huge umbrella he was zooming by everyone. There is the french guy who has a one wheeled contraption he has his pack and his wifes pack on it, and a harness that is hooked to his bag, almost like a horse and plow. We also ran into a pilgrim on a bike with very bad equipment and a dog this guy has a huge beard dreadlocks and looks like one of those homeless guys in Toronto.
We made it to Zubiri and now I am out of time at the internet cafe gotta go.

ReplyDeleteHa ha, much unlike the homeless people in Vancouver. Oh wait, there are no homeless people in Vancouver...
ReplyDeleteI bet the people watching there is just as fun as the scenery. The other day I was riding my bike and saw a guy on a scooter driving slowly down the sidewalk while his two very little kids followed behind on their wee bikes! It all seemed very wrong.
